A simple paw stepped repeatedly to the continuous pace, never once losing its beat matching the others. It wasn't special, it wasn't out of the ordinary. It was just a paw. And Everyday wolf paw.
A pair of glassy distant eyes gazed about looking into nothing, reflecting nothing but of what they saw at the present time. Nothing had changed. But Everything Seemed wrong.
It was silent. Lonely. Dead. The Death of Quend, the past alpha, and Saddened many, plenty of the number vanishing to find some time alone, maybe pray, for the passed wolf. But The New Alpha Remained. Nothing changed upon him, physically. He had seemed to have aged and grown more distant,Mentally, sense his fathers death. It had been almost two moons, and He knoew most of the pack would be returning.
The silence though seemed to be grabbing him, pulling his fur, biting his ears. Attacking him, calling to him, and he had let himself fall to it, listen to its few commands. He had grown pleased with it, and had a strange ache in him that he didn't want the others to return. As if the silence had changed him. That is, it had.
The wolf turned, his eyes staring at nothing, his mind pounding with ache, screaming at him. He had not eaten in a long while, he hadn't slept for days. He felt to alone, he had felt he couldn't, no matter the amount of effort he gave toward to subject.
A sigh escaped his lungs, being one of the few sounds there were that evening. The birds had all taken a trip to visit dreamland, the pay silent while nibbling their shrub. Not even the crickets sung to the moon.
The Alpha slowly retreated to silken haunches, his ears errect, his eyes alert, yet still distant and tired. He waited, but for what? Nothing. He waiting there as if he were waiting for someone to come as if meeting them. That's all there was to do...

A rather small figure was cautiously walking through the forest. As it came out of the trees, it could be seen more clearly. A wolf. Nera. She dodged all the trees with ease, as if she had pratically grew up in the forest.
A small sigh escaped from her lips, as she inclined her head towards the sky. This sigh was perhaps the only thing that could be heard in the quiet world. Not even the river seemed to make a sound. Everywhere, nothing could be heard. Not even a rustle, or a whisper. The silence haunted Nera. In her dreams, in her mind, and in her eyes. Ever since The Death of Quend, everyone seemed to be mute. All the wolves in the pack seemed to be dumb-struck by this sudden event. Their eyes which were once full of life, and wisdom, now was empty. The only thing you could see in their eyes was the sorrow of the death of a strong leader.
Nera on the other hand, she was acustomed to death. And the news hadn't hit her as badly as expected. In her childhood, there were: Death. Death. And Death.
'Curse those Humans.' she muttered.
The black willow trees blocked all from view ahead. Her paws moved fast, but silently. In a noiseless rhythm. Nera stopped without warning. Her two ears perked up, sensing something was waiting for her. Cautiously, she aproached the Thing that was there.
It was the Alpha. Kurse.

The presence of another creature dragged Kurse back into life. He slowly turned his head to see Nera. His eyes locked upon her, his chest tightening, his breath escaping his lungs. The Sudden presence of another wolf seemed to attack him.
He rose quickly to his haunches. He stepped closer, bring his head level with her own. His sleek shoulder blades jutted abruptly out of his thin coat, his spine rippeling his back. His tail swayed in a calm tone, his ears errect, but not sternly, they hung slightly to the side in relaxation.
He drew in a breath, her warm scent flooding his nose. He shook his head abruptly, before lifting it. His lips parted to speak, but simply hovered agape as a few moments passed. Finally he found his power to speak once more, coughing slightly before releasing his speech.
"Welcome Back, M'dear. It is...nice to see another wolf among the ill-struck forest" His voice stung the air like acid, Shattering he silence, hulting the continuous ringing within his ears for just a moment.
He found his self hoping she had something to say, for he didn't. He had been the wolf sitting around, starving and swaying from lack of sleep. She had gone where. Done something with the passing days.

'Yes. It's quite a relief to hear another sound in this silent world.' Nera replied, her eyes fixed on him.
So. He had noticed she had been away. Nera had been venturing around the East, trying to escape the deathly silence that haunted the forest and the pack. She spent around a week in the East, where she lurked in the shadows of the trees. The food was good. But it was acutally quite lonely. So she came back.
Nera inclined her head slowly, to look at Kurse. He seemed quite tired, and hungry. Her eyes lingered on his ribs for a fraction of a second. The Alpha was so skinny that his ribs could be seen. Even his dark hues of fur couldn't cover his evidence that he hadn't eaten for what had seemed, a week. During the time that she had been gone. Seeing that he was still watching her, she abruptly turned her head away, her neck arching to the left. Sunlight poured through the trees, illuminating the forest floor, and the tree trunks were a slightly lighter brown colour. But still, there was no noise to be heard.
'Maybe I shouldn't have left. I should have stayed. Especially since.. The Death. I should have been there to support you.' Nera said quietly, her eyes back on Kurse.
Her face was just inches away from his. She could feel his warm breath rippling against her grey fur.

Kurse Nodded in more silence, watching her, his eyes locked upon her. Her appearance seemed different to him somehow, causing some light tug upon his heart, beckoning him to do something of some sort. He was not truely sure.
The sun brushed against his fur. Sending a shiver through his spine, from the sudden shock of warmth. He lowered his gaze to look upon her paws, but thinking instead of seeing. He was now strangly confused, as his guts were tingling and tightening. To much stress He thought to himself, though he truely knew it as a lie. Just calm down.
He looked up as she spoke once more, and shook his dial roughly as his ears absorbed her sweet tone. "Ah, No M'dear, 'Tis fine. Being alone helped." He had more to say, but dared not say it. His tounge wished to tell her that her presence now was all he was in need for.
He looked away again, his nostrols absorbing the damp forest scents. "Maybe.... Some meat would do no harm" He said softly, his eyes slowly trailing and weaving themselves through the trees that he had passed by so many times before.

Nera's eyes were still fixed onto Kurse as he reassured her that her being away was alright. She wasn't convinced. Her eyes studied the wolf slowly, full of concentration. After a couple of minutes, Nera gave another small sigh, and followed his eyes to the clump of trees. Not a single movement could be seen. All was still. The rabbits and the birds had seemed to gone into extinction. They also seemed to be bound by the Rule of Silence. Her eyes trailed slightly to the left, where the River could be found. Fish were swimming in the River all the time. Just thinking about fish made Nera water. She had arrived back in the pack just yesterday, and hadn't eaten anything during that time.
'Maybe the River will still have fish.' Nera murmured, not wanting to speak so loud in the quiet forest, 'Do you think we should go there?'
She turned her head to look at Kurse, her neck bent into a graceful arch. As she turned to look at him, something clawed her inside. A hunger. But not for food. Nera's mind was in chaos, unable to descibe her strange sensation. It must be the Silence. It's getting to me. She thought, but she knew it wasn't true. And intended to find out what it was. Not now. Later.
Then, without waiting for an answer, Nera headed towards the river, her stomache ached with hunger. Her tail swished from side to side, in a steady pace, as she walked towards the river. She looked back, wondering if Kurse was comming. Wanting Kurse to to come with her.

Not a word of reply, nor a satifying motion. He just gave a minor nod. The thought of fresh eqarium inhabbitants made his adrenaline rush, causing him to forget about the aching sesation knotting his throat.
He stepped in unison with the Female, his tail swaying in order of blance and the simple motion of walking. His ears swivled about, trying to banish the ill ringing within his mind. He had spaced, his eyes not absorbing what they saw.
He was knocked quickly back into reality as he felt a cool dampness engulf his paws. He shook his head, growling slightly to himself in irritation. He looked over at the female, no not the female, Nera, her beaty radiating around her.
Again, he shook his muzle, finding consentration back upon the silvery surface, once again waiting for something. But this time he actually was waiting for a purpose, for a meal. He needed food. He knew it. His stomach tingled with the thought. His lungs tightened, and sudden reflect brought his head slamming through the cool liquid surface. His teeth grabbed something, and his head pulled up with another blink, a silvery creater floppy helplessly in his jaws.

Letting out a low moan, Mju padded towards the two with a groan. A rather large gash was upon her shoulder, in her maw she dragged a fawn. She laid it down before the alpha and raise her tail proudly, the pain of the wound evident in her liquid hazel orbs. The small arctis wolf hd got the wond whilst hunting for the other pack members. She hadnt been in the pack long and wanted to proove herself worthy. Unluckily, she had got carried away and hd, at first, went for a stag, wanting to show her strength and determination. The stag had come out best, slicing her shoulder blade. it was lucky she had spotted the fawn when she did. It ws crippled, it would never have grown to maturity anyway. Shehad slaughtered the best quickly, leaving the rest of its kind to wander away its mother sobbing as they moved off from their grazing spot. "My lord, a gift." She said, backing off, feeling slightly annoyed with herself. She was hungry too, she hadnt eaten for a while. licking her lips, she lay in the grass, smiling brightly. Though hungry, she was not selfish.

Kurse, lower his head, letting the limp silvery carcass slip from his grasp, landing upon the cool grass. He looked at the young deer, a slight, crooked smile crawling over his labrums. He sniffed and huffed out, before biting into the neck, warm luquid engulfed his mouth, causing him to water.
his lifted his head, looking at the young arctic female. "Thank you, M'dear" he said calmly, before eyeing her wound. He had little idea of how to cure it, but instantly bent over and snapped the ear of the deer off of the carcass. He leaned over and placed it on her wound, licking the blood away.
He then leaned into the cadaver, biting at its side, sudden instincts grabbing at him, causing him to tear into its flesh. He flicked his tail, motioning to them that they, too, may eat.

Acidic clover colored eyes held the same trepidation his facial features depicted. The sinister green remained abstemious and free of malevolent idles that never once lurked at the zenith of his mind as a wolf strolled into the terrian. Head angled itself to keep a vigilant gaze upon the weather worn path that paws and hooves had tred and now the being followed it. The presence was male, completely and utterly male yet it held not the confidence of one. Corpulent chest is a pallid white and around his hips are almost indecipherable black spots dappled across his flank. The wolf stalked apprenhensive of his perdicament. White furred labrums rotated periodically as they registered the wilderness and it's sounds. The wolf was garnished with moonlight and it's size wasn't of the norm. A grey wolf would be slightly dwarfed by his stature. Around his visage is black highlighted fur that sachet his amber nose and the chin before resuming it are manila pigment. His name was Taikyo translating from japanese to 'the universe'. Ambling forward his attentiveness was rewarded with the sight of other wolves. He hesitated; uncertainty distorting his gaze as massive paws pushed through the shrubbery. "Hello?" He said passively.

Nera's ears flickered as she saw the wolf. Alas, it was Acidic. She had seen him a couple of times in the pack. But never paid much attention to him. Nera cautiously stepped over to the deer. Her nose inhaled the smell of fresh blood. The deer was obviously killed recently, if not, just a couple of moments before. It's long, slender legs were bent in an akward way, and it's eyes were closed. Nera took a deep breath, and stuck her muzzle into the cadaver, ripping the meat off the deer. It was really great to eat meat. Meat wasn't as common nowadays, and the taste of it just made Nera want to faint. In a hazy sort of way. After she had sufficient ammount, she sat down on her hind legs, licking her blood-stained paw. Her soft, pink tongue repeatedly cleaned her paw.
'Thank you.' Nera quietly said a word of thanks, as she studied the artic wolf.

Nevermore smiled as they began to eat the creature, but was to nervous to join in. She sat silently besides it for a moment, the smell of fresh kill bringing up a lust for blood within her. She stood, padding away to sit a little further from the others, under a nearby tree. Its shade cooled her and she was grateful for it in the heat. She licked her paws clean for a moment, then glanced up, surprised to see a huge wolf in thier presence. She got to her paws shyly and tilted her head to one side. She had no intentions of standing even remotly near him - she didnt want to appear smaller than she already was. She listened quietly, feeling rather lonely under the tree, not to mention hungry, but it had been her own free choice to do so.

Taikyo watched in luxurious silence as the wolves feasted. The savory concoction of clover, flaxen and pallid white dancing in elliptical pools on intrigue as he padded out of the vegetation. Furred labrums consisting of multicolored fur tilted and remained askew upon his cranial structure. Downy appendage that was waving behind his spindly heels had ceased the movement to remain in an amicable. They didn’t exibihit any hostility as far as he could discern from their body language and for the most part they weren’t intimidated by his presence. Taking a tentative step forward and repeating the motion until he was within the opening he hunkered down, attempting to make himself smaller, his size less daunting. Ears pressed themselves against his head as he glanced to the sole male within the ranks and watched the simulation of dominance emitted from his stance and gestures. “Excuse me, is it possible to stay here?” he asked remaining against the ground and tail wagging only slightly.

His dial raised slightly, pupils cornering themselves among the eye to look at the strange hybrid. His whole head turned, to look upon him, before he lifted it above his shoulders height.
His tail did no spectacular dominant stance, just hung down in casuality. He sniffed the aroma about him, ears flickering to stand forth. His lips parted for speech, but once more they did not do their purpose. He had nothing to Spiel.
His head Moved slowly, indicationg that the wolf did have Permission to stay. He did not want any solitude wolves around either way. He flicked his head upward, motioning for the wolf to bring itself to its feet.
He then turned, spine to him, and sunk his blades into the surface of the does hind leg, pulling with a strange furry of giving. When the joints and tendends gave, he tossed it to the pedistal of the Dire mix, not a word said.

Taikyo was dismayed though he did not vocalize this as he fretfully drew himself up. There was no indecision from these wolves over his presence and he couldn’t suppress the abrupt wagging of his tail. He stood fully erect towering over the brute before him easily. However his height was hindered because of his mixed lineage. A natural Dire wolf ranged from 5 to seven feet. He technically was a dwarf among them at 4’11. Never the less he offered a grateful smile.” Thank you.” He murmured lightly taking the offering. He gingerly clamped his jowls against the leg, feeling the fragility of the bone beneath the layer of flesh and fur. He dragged in as one would carry a rabbit hauling it closer to himself where he lowered his haunches to the snow laden earth and began to gnaw ravenously on the sustenance.

He looked back at the wolf, a think crooked smile titled on his mouth. "I'm not the one to thank, The Arctic female over there would be the capturer of this fine doe" he said calmly over at the shy fae.
He then scooped up the aquarium creature he had set upon the ground just moments before and padded slowly over the thw whie wolf. He layed it infront of her, before turning to get a grasp on some water.

The obscenely large male nodded his gratitude turning his attentive green stare to the female that had been indicated. His muzzle brightly decorated with crimson which he attempted to wash off his visage with the snow accumulating on the ground. Snow plastered itself in resolute clumps against his belly fur and his heels, dangling like small white ornaments that he quickly dislodged with a shake. The vigorous quake he issued to his body sent the clumps about in offending snowballs hitting object unintended. A numbing wave of disorientation overcame him from the vigorous motion before he redirected his gaze again. This time the liquefied emeralds wavered, ambling towards Kurse and he hesitated. opps was the silent realization that the wolf he’d been speaking to wasn’t the one he needed to consult. He slumped to the ground again deciding perhaps he would go overlooked until the male was ready to attend to his queries. Instead he returned his gaze now to Nera within the clearing with an inquisitive flash. Then decisively turning to the female whose quarry he was sharing. Her facial demeanor he deciphered as one he had adorned before. Morose to say the least he could sympathize. Getting up he padded over towards her, though making his movements deliberate he didn’t want her to be daunted by his presence so again he hunkered down into the snow while dragging the stag leg with him. “Excuse me? Thank you for the food.” He called up to her from his position a yard from her actual being but he was slightly perturbed now as he examined her. She was so small. But then again compared to himself, everything was small, she just seemed smaller.

Nera had sat back, and watched the other wolves eat. A couple of them seemed fairly uncomfortable around Kurse. No surprises there. The alpha always seemed to make other wolves uneasy. Especially the fact that his father died. That was pretty sad. But to Nera's odd surprise. She hadn't felt really tense around him. She stopped licking her paw, and heaved a sigh. It was kind of boring now. There was nothing to do. Except watch the other wolves eat. Which wasn't that fun to tell the truth. Nera got off her hind legs, and started walking to the river. As she got closer, she could hear the soft sounds of the river pouring down on the rocks in front. When she got there, Nera put her head down to drink, but then saw her reflection. She looked the same as she was last time she looked in the river. But this time, something was different. Something had changed. Nera cocked her head to one side, and the reflection did the same.
'I wonder..' She murmured.
Nera chose to think about this change later, as she carefully put her right paw in the water. The river's current wasn't strong enough to take her down-stream. But further on, it was able to do that. She dipped her head into the cool water, lapping up the fresh water.

Kurse had grown awkwardly bored, trying to keep himself dozing in place. He shook himself, snorting in irritation. He looked to the west, the sun was begining to crawl closer to the mountain, sneaking its way off to sleep.
He growled at himself and stood, streaching his paws before him, tail sticking slyward. His jaw widened, letting out a rather loud moan-like sound. He pulled himself back up, before turning with out a word, trotting toward the woods.
He glanced back at Nera, his heart aching that she would follow, but he couldn't bring himself to ask her. He sighed, and turned back, slowiing slightly. giving her the slightest chance to have the ability to follow.

Nera turned her head at the sound of padding footsteps. Kurse had started to go. Water splashed onto the dry ground as she moved towards him. The strange feeling came to her stomache again. The clawing became much worse this time. Slightly frowing, she increased her pace, trying to catch up with the Alpha. Maybe like her, he had grown quite bored. Nera gave a quick glance back at the other two wolves, who were still gnawing off meat from the almost-clean deer. Then, she turned her attention back at Kurse, who was slowing down, as he walked into the cluster of trees. The Willow trees' branches swooped down, as if beckoning them to go inside. She studied the Forest she had lived in for the last year. Nera knew most of the trails in there, but there were some times when the forest was like a foriegn country to her. A small smile crept on her face as she walked behind Kurse, her tail swaying side to side.
